SheLeads sells traditional Bhutanese dress (kira) to raise funds
SheLeads, the student-led initiative at Royal Thimphu College (RTC), for the first time, has launched a business project selling traditional kira to raise funds for activities aimed at empowering young women.
The initiative, exclusively run by RTC students, provide members with practical experience in entrepreneurship while supporting leadership and business skills development. Kinzang Choden Tshering, one of the initiative said that as a self-funded club, the business initiative provides an opportunity to practice entrepreneurship while simultaneously supporting their programs.
Through the sale of kira, SheLeads seeks to connect entrepreneurial activity with real-world impact, demonstrating that small business initiatives can contribute to broader goals of women’s empowerment in Bhutan.
SheLeads was established to help young women develop the skills and mindset needed to become financially independent, innovative, and self-sustaining leaders in the Bhutanese society. Its programs focus on building business ideas, fostering leadership and financial skills, and supporting personal and professional growth.
