Bhutan Hosts First Vocal Training Workshop in Punakha

Punakha, Bhutan to host the first-ever vocal training workshop for Bhutanese artists is currently happening at Punakha organized and sponsored by the Department of Media, Creative Industry & Intellectual Property(DOMCIIP). The 10-day program began on 21st September and will run until 30th September, bringing together 20 local artists. The training is being led by three main trainers, including two vocal specialists, with one of them being the personal vocal coach of renowned Indian singer Arijit Singh.

Now on its fifth day, the workshop has been focusing on voice modulation, breathing techniques, stage performance, and creative expression. Trainers have been conducting both lectures and hands-on sessions, with artists practicing daily routines and receiving personalized feedback. The goal is to help participants strengthen their technical skills and build confidence, while also exposing them to global best practices in vocal performance.

The workshop provides an inspiring cultural setting for the artists. With five more days remaining, the program is set to conclude with a showcase performance where participants will demonstrate their progress. Officials from the Department of Media, Creative Industry & Intellectual Property said the initiative is part of a larger effort to develop Bhutan’s creative industry and empower local talent to compete on regional and international platforms.
